FUNDING ASSISTANCE

ASB Conference 2017 Each year the Atlantic Schools of Business Conference Executive allocates funds to assist in supporting conference attendance and participation by both students and early career faculty. For the purposes of the ASB conference fund, a Student is any person enrolled in full time or part time studies at the Undergraduate, Master’s or PhD level at an institution in Canada or abroad. Early Career Faculty is defined as any person who works as a full time faculty member either on a limited term appointment, or full time (tenure track) appointment and, who is in the first three years of their appointment.

The funds are limited and while funds last, there is a maximum of $500 per applicant made available. It is estimated that funding for ten persons will be made available annually. While fund allocation is granted on a first-come-first-serve basis, priority will be granted to PhD Students and Early Career Faculty.

Application for funds is completed through a two-step process:

Step One: To be completed before the conference.
Download and complete The ASB Conference Fund for Students and Early Career Faculty Application Form. Once you have completed the application form, email it as an attachment to the ASB VP Finance (daphne.rixon@smu.ca). The VP Finance will confirm with you whether you will receive funding support via a return email. If funding is granted, the VP finance will send you an expense form. It will be your responsibility to return the completed expense form to the VP Finance after the conference.

Step Two: To be completed after the conference.
Within 14 days of the conference close, submit an electronic copy of; a) the completed expense form; and b) electronic copies of the receipts of expenses incurred, to the VP Finance via email. The VP Finance will then release the monies to you via cheque.
