Tourism Information

Home to “The Big Fiddle,” Sydney is Nova Scotia’s second largest city. It boasts a lovely boardwalk along Sydney Harbour, numerous restaurants serving local and international cuisine, shopping, museums, live music, culture and local artisans. Just 3KM from Sydney’s downtown is the Mi’kmaq community of Membertou (home of our ASB host hotel). Membertou is an urban and progressive community led by the leadership of the Membertou Development Corporation. In March 2019, led by the vision of Chief Terry, Membertou Development Corporation was named as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies; the first Mi’kmaq Corporation to be honoured with the Best Managed designation. Membertou has a casino, restaurants, convention centre, hotel, bowling lanes, YMCA and wellness centre, cultural activities and workshops and continues to grow! Our opening reception will be hosted at the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre.

Have you heard that Cape Breton Island was named the #1 Island in Canada for the second time by Travel + Leisure Magazine? Aside from the Cabot Trail, Cape Breton is growing in popularity with cruise ships, award winning golf, and local food and craft beverages.
